ELK IN THE ROCKIES

One of the best places to see elk is in Rocky Mountain National Park. Featured in this image is a bull elk who was curious about me and came over to my car to investigate. He was a few feet from the passenger side and I was standing on the driver’s side. I took photos of him over the roof of my car while he “sniffed” at me. This went on for quite a while until he got bored and trotted off. If you look closely you can see a little blade of grass in his mouth.
